Message Good morning everyone,

I have narrowed down my choices to Yokohama Avid VS4, Yokohama AVS ES100, and the Kumho ECSTA ASX. My Z is a daily driver, so please keep that in mind. Ever since my first car (many years ago), I have always used Yokohamas, so I trust them. I currently have the Yokohama AVS DB and they have done me right, however, it's time for new tires.

Most of the time, I putt around the city, but sometimes I do spirited runs on the highways. While reading the specs for the above mentioned tires, on paper, the Avid VS4 would be the best bet for longevity, but I also feel that this particular tire is not right for the Z (due to the reviews).

While searching on this forum, I have came across many great rave reviews for the AVS ES100, however, it's the tread life that bothers me the most. The tread life is lower than my current tires and the other two tires.

Also while searching on this forum, I came across reviews for the Kumho ECSTA 711/712, but not for the ASX. There are a lot of mix reviews for the ECSTA series. However, while reading the specs, it looks like the ASX might be what I'm looking for (a good mixture of performance/handling/longevity). I have not owned any Kumho tires before and I really don't know how they would perform on the Z.

I do realize that I should not go "cheap" on tires because they basically are the only thing that keeps me from slipping and sliding all over the road. So, I'm asking for opinions/experiences on which tires I should go for with a good combination of performance/handling/wet and dry traction/and longevity.

BTW, I live in Houston,TX if this would help you guys in choosing the tires.

Thanks, Nitehawk
